Probiotics is the “good” bacteria that gives a boost to your overall health. Your body needs these bacteria in order to maintain your digestive tract at an optimum health. Eating probiotic foods has many benefits for our health and it also restores the natural balance of our gut bacteria. Here is what probiotic foods you can include in your diet:

Kefir. This is a fermented dairy product that contains a wide variety of good bacteria. Much like yogurt, this product has a slightly sour taste, but its consistency is thinner. Miso soup. This is a Japanese dish, made from fermented soy beans. You can make it with barley, brown rice and other grains. Miso soup is rich in vitamin B, iron, calcium, zinc and other antioxidants. Be careful with your miso intake, because it is high on salt content.

Kimchi. Another Asian dish, this one is popular in Korea. Usually you make it with Chinese cabbage, eggplants, cucumbers or radishes, fermented with other bacteria. The kimchi is then seasoned with garlic, onion, hot pepper flakes and other condiments. Korean people usually eat this dish with steamed rice.

Sour pickles. Naturally fermented sour pickles are one of the best probiotic foods. Always opt for making your own pickles rather than buying them from the store. There are lots of simple recipes that you can try to make your own pickles.

Yogurt. No list of probiotic foods can be complete without yogurt. It aids digestion, promotes weight loss and offers a healthy environment for the microorganisms in your digestive tract. You can eat yogurt for breakfast or even as a dessert.

All in all, you need to take care of the microorganisms from your digestive tract. Include these probiotic foods into your meals more often and you won’t have any digestive problems in the future.
